Edge Common has been a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) since 1974. It is a good example of unimproved Jurassic limestone grassland which used to be prevalent in the Cotswolds and has a variety of wild flowers and butterflies. (Its official name now is Rudge Hill although Edge Common is the better known name.)

Park in the disused Bus Stop opposite The Edgemoor Inn at SO849092 or, if that is full, at the entrance to the common at SO847096 which is reached by taking the turn signposted Whiteshill and Randwick on the A4173 at the northern end of Edge. Both parking places are marked on the OS map below. The post code and Google map provided are for the Edgemoor Inn.

Meet at the quarries near the Edgemoor Inn as marked on the OS map.
