Though far less well known than their day-time cousins, there are 50-times more moths than butterflies, they are much more diverse, and their stories are much more amazing.

Starting with a talk about all things moths (what they are, their diversity, moth feats and their conservation), we will then venture out to see the moths that have been attracted by traps set in the Grounds. This is a hands-on up-close experience to show you the number and diversity of moths that go unnoticed by most of us every night.

Aim to stay till 11 pm to complete the first round of the traps, but we will continue until 3 or 4 am – and you’re welcome to stay as long as you like to see what arrives.

(Various forms of caffeine are available!)
