Every summer we run an identification day which starts at The Royal William hotel in Cranham and is especially for new members. This event is always popular and is a chance to improve your skills and meet fellow butterfly enthusiasts.

It will comprise an indoor session in the morning where there will be a presentation of the butterfly species seen in the county with hints and tips on how to recognise them. This will be followed by a walk onto adjacent Painswick Beacon for a ‘bring your own’ picnic and a walk around the site to put the theory into practice.

All members joining Butterfly Conservation in the last two years will be emailed a few weeks beforehand with more details of the day and invited to book a place. Priority will be given to new members but other members will be welcome to take up any spare places.

Booking is essential. If you are interested in attending, please contact Tricia Atkinson – details below.
