Joint venture with the Forestry Commission. This is Westonbirt’s first ever Bioblitz and we are hoping to monitor the effect of the recent restoration of the Downs, some of which was formerly a car park. Intensive moth recording will take place on the Friday night over the entire Arboretum and will be followed by a series of timed, themed walks on the Saturday (see event page at https://www.forestry.gov.uk/westonbirt-bioblitz).

Friday 7th July 8.30 pm – 01.00 am (Moth recorders and helpers only) Meet at entrance triangle adjoining A433 from 8.30 pm – 09.00 pm. Note: the barrier will be locked after this time.

The barrier is marked on the OS map below at ST 85500 89683.

Saturday 8th July 09.00 am – 16.00 pm for timed events and walks.

Admission Free up to 9.30 am for moth recorders who ran traps overnight; they MUST sign the attendance register on arrival.
