If you would like to join in with some conservation work please contact the organiser the day before to make sure that it is still going ahead. All you need is some warm, waterproof clothing, boots and a packed lunch.

The locations of some events do not have a postcode so that Google maps are not very useful. You can see Ordnance Survey maps for these sites at  Useful maps.

The Butterfly Nectar Garden at Prinknash is part of the walled garden owned by the monks at Prinknash Abbey, near Cranham, Gloucester GL4 8EX.  Members of the Branch will be on hand to answer questions about butterflies and plants and Butterfly Conservation in general. Big Butterfly Count

The Big Butterfly Count is a nationwide survey aimed at helping us assess the health of our environment. It was launched in 2010 and has rapidly become the world's biggest survey of butterflies. Over 36,000 people took part in 2016, counting almost 400,000 individual butterflies and day-flying moths across the UK. Big Butterfly Count 2017 will take place from Friday 14 July to Sunday 6 August.
